Neges y Llywydd/President’s Message
Hoffwn ddiolch am y gwahoddiad anrhydeddus hwn i fod yn Lywydd Sioe Amaethyddol Gogledd Cymru. Yn wir mae yn glod ac yn fraint imi gael bod yn rhan or digwyddiad hanesyddol hwn. |
Er nad wyf yn bersonnol yn dod o gefndir amaethyddol, rwyf wedi prynnu, crafu,
llygadu a ffrio cannoedd o dunelli o datws tra’n berchen siop sglodion dros un ar
bymtheg o flynyddoedd!!, ac yn sicr yn gwybod beth yw gwerth a phwysigrwydd y
diwydiant amaeth i economi a diwylliant ein gwlad. Yn anffodus fel ymhob diwydiant daw anhawsterau i’n gwynebu, ond mae dyfalbarhad, cryfder a balchder ein cyn dadau yng ngwreiddiau ni fel Cymry i frwydro yn erbyn yr anhawsterau ac anghyfiawnder bywyd, ac mi rydych chi yn adlewyrchiad o hyn wrth ddilyn llinell amser llwyddiannus eich Sioe yn deillio o 1881.
Hoffwn ddiolch i bawb sydd wedi ymrwymo yn holl weithgareddau y Sioe. Gwelir safon y cynhyrch ar cystadlu yn cyfoethogi a ffynnu yn flynyddol, a diolchwn am frwdfrydedd, theyrngarwch a gwaith graenus y pwyllgor ar aelodau sy’n rhan anatod ir llwyddiant hyn. Diolch hefyd ir noddwyr haelionus sydd mor barod yn eu cefnogaeth, i’r stondianau masnach amrywiol sy’n cyfranu a chreunaws esthetig gyfoethog i’r diwrnod. Yn sicr nid oes sioe heb ein cystadleuwyr, a diolchaf am eich parodrwydd i gymryd rhan, ac i deithio o bob cwr o’r Siroedd cyfagos i’n cefnogi.
Yn olaf , ond yn sicr nid y lleiaf, diolch ichi yr ymwelwyr am eich cefnogaeth ar hyd y
blynyddoedd, am drosglwyddo eich brwdfrydedd i’ch plant a’ch ffrindiau, ac hefyd am ddangos eich cefnogaeth yng ngweithgareddau y diwrnod. Mawr obeithiaf y cawn dywydd ffafriol eto eleni i ddilyn llwyddiant ysgubol Sioe 2010.

May I thank all involved for the honourable invitation presented upon me to be the President of The North Wales Agricultural Show 2011. Indeed, it is an honour to be part of this prestigious annual event.
Even though I am not from an agricultural background, I have purchased, peeled, eyed and fried hundreds of tonnes of potatoes whilst owning and running a local ‘chip shop’ for sixteen years!!, and deeply appreciate the true value of the industry to the economy and culture of our country. Unfortunately, like many industries, difficult times lay ahead, but the tenacity, strength and proudness of our predecessors and forefathers are rooted in us as fellow Welshmen and Woman to battle against the difficulties and injustices of life, and this show is a true reflection of this over the years since it was founded in 1881.
I would like to thank all for their commitment in all the shows activities. An enormous thanks to the members of the show committee, who show such enthusiasm, dedication and drive to ensure this event continues successfully each and every year, to the event sponsors for their continuous financial support which is the backbone to the show, and to each and every one who supports and attends with their stalls full of wonderful local products to sell. A very special thanks to the competitors, for their readiness to take part, and for their time and effort to travel from all corners of Gwynedd to partake in this prestigious event.
And, last but not least, thank you all, the visitors for your unrivalled support over the years, for passing on your enthusiasm to your children and friends, and also for your support in the events activities.
Without you, along with all the above, ‘The show would definitely not go on!’ Let’s hope, that the weather is favourable again this year and we can all build further on the sweeping success of 2010!
